Another bizarre Lord Lucan tale...

A reclusive Englishman who settled in a small New Zealand town, Roger Woodgate, was upset when his neighbours sparked a media feeding frenzy by claiming he was Lord Lucan. But he is even more upset now because a court has rejected his attempt to obtain a restraining order against the couple, Margaret and Craig Harris.

I sympathise with Woodgate's plight. When his lawyer asked Mrs Harris whether she would ever give up her accusations about Woodgate being Lucan, she replied it would take a DNA test for her to let it be. Young readers might like to know that the 7th Earl of Lucan vanished in 1974 after his children's nanny was found bludgeoned to death in his estranged wife's London home.
