'Another betting company': Mixed reactions to Bristol City away kit as fans debate sponsor

It's been a busy morning up on the Ashton Gate roof!

A new signing, a new away kit and a new shirt sponsor to marvel over, with Joe Williams joining Bristol City from Wigan on a four-year deal.

And it's a return to the famous purple and lime away kit for the Robins, with Williams modelling the new kit on top of the Ashton Gate roof.

The kit has a lime collar, trims on the arms and lime Hummel tracks on the sleeves with a faint, checked pattern on the purple front and back.

The club are no longer with former sponsor, betting firm Dunder, and have now swapped that for another betting company in Mansion Bet, which used to sponsor Tottenham Hotspur in the 2000s.

And there have been mixed reactions from Bristol City fans over the kit. Many adore the purple and lime of old and to see new kit supplier Hummel work with the colours has excited many an Ashton Gate faithful.

However, several have bemoaned the decision to go with another betting company as the club's main shirt sponsor, from reasons to 'it's too big' to debates over the ethics of putting a gambling firm centre stage.

See what various fans thought about the new away shirt below.

Dan Wilkins : Love the kit, hate the sponsor.

Boost : Quality away kit.

Matt : Sponsor really ruins it.

Iain Miles: Love the shirt but shame it's another betting company, the sooner gambling advertising in football is banned the better.

Jake: Take my money!

Lee Bryant: More disappointing than the manager fiasco...

George: This is the type of sponsor on a kit that will grow on me. It was the exact same when we first got Dunder. Excited to see the home kit.

Steve: Another betting company but at least it sounds better than Dunder.

Tim: Will look better on home kit than away.

Alex: I like the signing, I like the shirt but that sponsor?

Matt Street: Good to see P&L back... another betting company though.

Shippers: Understand it’s a business decision but I don’t like gambling brands on the front of the shirts, especially when they insist on having it so large! Not a fan of this shirt.

Ally Stuart: Quality signing. Love the shirt! But another gambling sponsor is a real let down for a supposed family club.

Robbb: Banging kit that.

Jack Phillips: Well I wasn’t expecting this. What a shirt.

Jack: Oh my days that kit is beautiful.
