The Central Institute of Forensic Science (CIFS) will conduct an additional autopsy on the body of actress Nida "Tangmo" Patcharaveerapong on Thursday to confirm the cause of her death.

Thanakrit Jitta-areerat, secretary to the justice minister, said on Wednesday the institute's 15-member board voted unanimously to conduct another postmortem.

The body of the actress was moved from the Institute of Forensic Medicine of Police General Hospital to Thammasat University Hospital Rangsit campus on Tuesday, awaiting a green light from the CIFS for another medical investigation to quell public doubts.

The second autopsy will be performed at the university hospital.

On Monday, doctors from Police Genera Hospital gave Nida's mother Panida Sirayootyotin and her lawyer Krissana Sriboonpimsuay were given a detailed explanation of the circumstances of her death, in which no evidence of foul play was uncovered.

The explanation was also included in the report sent to investigators from Muang police station in Nonthaburi on Monday.

Ms Panida said the police explanation had quashed her doubts about what led to her daughter's death, but she wanted verification from another autopsy.

Nida, 37, fell into the Chao Phraya River in Muang district of Nonthaburi on the night of Feb 24 while travelling in a speedboat with five other people. Her body was found two days later.

Police have said the death was accidental but have yet to complete their investigation.

Three-day funeral prayers for Nida at Liberty Church Bangkok concluded on Sunday. The church was packed with family members, friends and fans.
