Another 41 homes approved for North Ayrshire seaside town

Forty-one more homes have been given the go-ahead in Saltcoats.

Persimmon Homes applied for planning permission to erect the houses on a site in the Sharphill area.

The houses are the latest phase in the firm’s development in the seaside town.

There are a number of different designs available according to plans submitted to the council showing two and three-bedroom options.

A planning statement from Persimmon Homes lodged with the council said: “The current proposal is for 41 terraced, semi-detached and detached private homes on a 1.4 hectare site and also includes, open space, landscaping and the associated infrastructure.”

The site is located to the North Of Arran View Nursing Home and to the west of Dalry Road.

The statement from the developer said: “The layout has also been adapted to take account of the irregular shape, significant topographical challenges and existing wayleaves within the site. There are existing electricity and sewer wayleaves within the site which will remain as non-developable areas.”

North Ayrshire Council has approved the planning application subject to conditions being met.

A council decision note said: “The proposal complies with the relevant provisions of the current adopted local development plan and there are no other material considerations that indicate otherwise.”
