Another 17 coronavirus deaths recorded in Liverpool hospitals

Liverpool's main hospital Trust has registered 17 new coronavirus deaths.

The Liverpool University Hospitals Teaching Trust's Covid-19 death toll has risen from 349 to 366 in the latest update.

The Trust covers the Royal Liverpool Hospital as well as Aintree and Broadgreen hospitals.

The increase means Liverpool as a city is one death away from reaching 400.

There were no other deaths at the city's other Trusts in today's update.

Here's how the city's different Trusts stand:

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (The Royal Liverpool, Aintree and Broadgreen Hospitals) - 366

Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital - 17

The Walton Centre - 9

Alder Hey Children's Hospital - 4 (all adults)

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust - 3

Unlike Liverpool, the rest of the region has escaped with very few deaths in today's update.

Just one death at Wirral's main Trust has taken its toll to 183.

There were three further deaths recorded at the Trust covering Halton and Warrington, meaning its overall figure now stands at 101.

Both the Southport and Ormskirk and St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trusts registered zero new deaths in today's bulletin - they remain on 123 and 172 deaths respectively.
