Anonymous has released the identities of 1,000 alleged Ku Klux Klan members.
“We consider this data dump as a form of resistance against the violence and intimidation tactics leveraged against the public by various members of Ku Klux Klan groups throughout history,” the group announced prior to the release.
The announcement comes days after the group denied responsibility for releasing names of US politicians who vehemently denied being members of the KKK. One politician called the dump "baseless internet garbage."
Operation KKK hackers pledged to unmask members of the racist hate group for the anniversary of a Ferguson grand jury's decision not to indict Darren Wilson, a white police officer who fatally shot the unarmed black teen Michael Brown.
