Annual Grangetown Festival celebrates 50th anniversary of moon landing

The annual Grangetown Festival has taken place, and this year celebrated the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.

Organised by Grangetown Community Action, partnered with Community Gateway, the festival took place in Grange Gardens.

Local businesses, community groups, food stalls, musicians and people from the local community made sure the turnout was good.

A stall was set up by the Cardiff University Sustainable Places project looking at encouraging women to run and the university's archaeology department also had a stall, presenting the findings from a neolithic hillfort project. A further archaeological dig will be starting at the end of the month in Caerau and Ely to see if more can be found. Volunteers are welcome to take part in the dig.
