Annual duck race set to return to Toton after year-long absence

An annual tradition - the famed duck race - is set to return to Toton next year after the 2021 event was cancelled due to covid.

The race, which will take place at Manor Park on January 1, will celebrate its 30th year.

The event involves the release of hundreds of rubber ducks into the River Erewash, with those who finishing in the top positions winning a host of prizes.

Entrants can by a ticket for £1.50, with the proceeds going towards Age UK Derby and Derbyshire.

A corporate race will also take place, with ducks available for sponsor at £25 for one or £40 for two.

Food and drink, as well as a tombola, will also be present at the event, which begins at around 1pm.
