We can now announce the winner of last month's street markets assignment. It is Tim Sam Brook. Our judge, freelance photographer Zac Waters, chose the image because he felt that the photographer had established some sort of relationship or conversation with the subject. As we have all been saying throughout the month, creating these sort of ad hoc relationships with strangers as models/subjects has been the most difficult part of this assignment. Waters also added that the photograph is well exposed with the mixed daylight and tungsten bulbs. It's taken from a good viewpoint and he liked the 'big guy' subject and nice details, for instance the dog on the counter. He felt that the picture asked questions which makes the viewer linger over it.
