Tottenham have completed their first signing of the January transfer window, after Gedson Fernandes joined the club on loan from Benfica.
The Benfica midfielder has joined Spurs on an 18-month loan deal, with Tottenham having the option to then make the transfer permanent.
That is despite the 21-year-old, who has two senior international caps for Portugal, being linked with Spurs' London rivals West Ham in recent days, with Hammers boss David Moyes speaking of the player's potential last week.
But Fernandes has opted to join Spurs and he has spoken of his delight at making the move to the Premier League with Tottenham.
And the move has gone down well with some Spurs fans, after Fernandes becoming Jose Mourinho's first signing since becoming Tottenham head coach.

The young Portugal star is a versatile midfielder, mainly playing through the centre but having played on the right and left in recent seasons as well as on the odd occasion as an attacking midfielder or second striker.
He has also representing his country at every age group from Under-15 upwards, including winning two caps for the senior team to date. He was also a member of the Portugal side that won the UEFA European Under-17 Championship in 2016.
Fernandes will wear the number 30 shirt during his time at Tottenham.
