'Announce Demiral and Upamecano' - The Arsenal fans excited by new £34m transfer links

Arsenal fans will be hoping the club are busy in the January transfer window.

It is not normally a transfer window in which the Gunners generally do much business.

Arsenal made just one loan signing last summer and it was a disastrous one - Denis Suarez joining the club for five months from Barcelona and managing just four substitute appearances in the Premier League.

Head of football Raul Sanllehi has previously admitted that he is not a fan of the January transfer window.

He said last year: "I don't believe much in the winter window. There are exceptions. But if you have the right plan in the summer and the team are performing at the level you expect, you should not go to that window or try to avoid it.

"It's there for emergencies, a big injury or if something is really not working and you need to recover there. I give much more importance to the summer windows."

But according to Tuttosport, the Gunners are preparing a January move for Juventus defender Merih Demiral.

Demiral has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with scouts from Arsenal, Manchester United and others watching him in action for Turkey this season.

Art de Roche on what Unai Emery needs to improve

The centre-back has made just one appearance for Juventus since a summer move from Sassuolo, with former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri preferring other players in his back-line.

Demiral is keen to move on in search of first team football and Arsenal are in need of defensive reinforcements, with the ninth worst defensive record in the Premier League this season.

And the Arsenal supporters are getting excited by a potential £34million move for Demiral.

The Gunners supporters will be happy to see some big-name signings in January to improve their Premier League form.
