'Announce contract!' - Excited Chelsea fans have a theory over Callum Hudson-Odoi's future

Some Chelsea supporters have a theory that Callum Hudson-Odoi has signed his new contract.

The 18-year-old has been involved in talks for several months now, and while football.london understands there has been an agreement, nothing has yet been confirmed.

But after discussing a photo which showed a young Hudson-Odoi as a Chelsea ballboy celebrating a Samuel Eto'o goal at Stamford Bridge, there may have been some hidden clues in regards to his future.

"You dream of being a professional as a kid, especially at the club I’ve now been at for so long. You think, 'Can I become like him or at least get to the top where he [Eto'o] is?' and I’m now fulfilling that dream," Hudson-Odoi said to the Chelsea official website .

"It’s the boyhood club I’ve always loved and played for, so I’ve always felt that that dream is there. Now I just want to carry on and keep going.’

"I’m back in full training with the squad so everything’s good. It’s now about getting back to match fitness and hopefully I’ll be back on the pitch soon."

Chelsea head coach  Frank Lampard insists that he has no new update on Hudson-Odoi's contract negotiations, but did reveal that the youngster could be back in action next month.

"No update at all. I've laid my cards on the table about it a while ago and it's between him and the club at the minute," Lampard said.

"Callum is training, looking bright and sharp but now we're in the zone where it's about protecting him, giving him conditioning with fitness, especially in the area of his injury. He has had quite a long time out. Like with Rudiger’s injury.

"The international break comes at quite a good time for us with both of those and for Reece James.

"They’re all in a position where, I hope, two or three weeks of strong training puts them back in the frame for the squad and available."

Although, Lampard's denial hasn't stopped some fans from getting excited and thinking that all that is left is the official announcement.
