'Announce Arteta' - Arsenal fans think they spot new manager clue ahead of Man City clash

Arsenal are back in Premier League action today as they prepare to take on reigning Premier League Champions Manchester City.

It has been a decent week for the Gunners under interim boss Freddie Ljungberg. A 3-1 victory over West Ham on Monday night was followed by a 2-2 draw with Standard Liege, a result which sealed their place in the knockout stages of the Europa League.

The win over the Hammers was the first win under Ljungberg since he took over on a temporary basis after the dismissal of Unai Emery.

Arsenal chiefs are continuing their search for Emery's successor, with names such as Carlo Anchelotti, Max Allegri and Brendan Rodgers all having been linked to the role.

One other name that has been linked will be visiting the Emirates Stadium this afternoon.

Former Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta is part of Pep Guardiola's coaching team at the Etihad Stadium, and he has been heavily linked with a return to the Gunners.

The Spaniard was one of the leading candidates for the role before the appointment of Unai Emery in the summer of 2018, but Arsenal chiefs opted for the experience of the former Paris Saint-Germain manager.

Ahead of the match against Manchester City, Arsenal have tweeted a video of the top five goals against their opponents, and some Gunners fans have noticed something about the video.

Take a look at what it was.

Arteta played 150 times for Arsenal, scoring 16 goals between the years of 2011 and 2016.
