Singer Lola Lennox told Lorraine Kelly said she felt insecure about being compared to her famous mum Annie Lennox when she was younger.
Lola, who released In The Wild last year and has just launched new single Wherever You Go, said: "Especially when I was younger, before I came into myself as artist I felt a bit more insecurity and there was this high, high bar to reach.
"But what was positive was I turned it into drive to get to a place of confidence."
She added: "I think to have passion and purpose is important to everybody. I'm happy to have such a deep connection to the music."
Lola, who has been singing from the age of seven said of her mum's influence: "I was really lucky I got to go on tour and see albums come together. She is so passionate about what she does and has a fantastic work ethic., Music spoke to me so strongly when I was little and I loved singing."
The young singer said her latest song took on a whole new meaning during the coronavirus lockdown.
She explained: "I moved to LA and missed my friends so much so wrote the song pre-Covid about carrying those in your heart you love wherever you are. It took on a whole new meaning over Covid. "
The singer also said she was happy to have her home studio during the pandemic and spent lockdown creating music.
She said: "I love music from the sixties and seventies and a lot of new artists can make music from their living room or bedroom like Billie Eilish.
"I have a little home studio and we spent lockdown making music in the living room."
