Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox has raved about Adele, calling the singer 'spellbinding and spectacular' before rubbishing comparisons made online.
The Scots Sweet Dreams frontwoman, 66, told her fans she had been to see Adele perform at a secret show in the Griffith Observatory in LA and was chuffed to be amongst the guests there.
Smiling in a selfie Annie wrote on Instagram: "Guess who went to see Adele perform at the Griffith Observatory on Sunday night???!!!!"
"Was it magical - spellbinding - exceptional - spectacular??? A rousing affirmative YES !!!!!"
Fans were delighted that Annie had managed to watch the British singer who is due to release her first album in six years.
One said:"Ah.... lucky. But then I imagine Adele was blown away that YOU were in the audience."
Another suggested: "Annie - there has to be a stunning duet here."
However one commented: "No chance !!! Annie you are 100 s better…. Adele no image at all".
Annie didn't take the insult to Adele lying down and told the troll in defense of the Someone Like You singer: "No comparisons necessary! We both have something to offer in our own unique way.
"Adele is absolutely brilliant and exceptional and I LOVE her !!
The special show will be broadcasts as a two-hour CBS special, Adele One Night Only and on November 14th Adele, will also chat to Oprah Winfrey to chat about her new music, life after divorce, weight loss and raising her son.
