Anne Nolan 'on top of the world' as her cancer 'disappears' 6 months after diagnosis

Anne Nolan has issued a vital update on her cancer battle months after revealing her heartbreaking diagnosis.

Anne, 69, and sister Linda, 61, went public with their diagnoses over the summer having received them within days of each other.

Another sister, Bernie, sadly died in 2013 after her own battle with the disease.

But Anne's had a bit of good news, telling BBC's Morning Live that her cancer has "disappeared, basically."

She added: "I'm still having treatment to go forward but it's more or less gone, yeah. It's amazing."

Anne also recalled a piece of advice that had stuck with her, the wisdom delivered by a woman in the hospital.

"I remember being in hospital and having my chemo," she said, "and there was a lady sitting opposite me and she was at the end of her chemotherapy.

"She said to me, 'I just want you to know there is light at the end of the tunnel', and at the time I thought I really can't see that at the moment, but there is, and I'm proof there is.

"It's fantastic."

The Nolans' show, At Home With The Nolans, saw Anne join sisters Linda, Coleen, Maureen and Denise to raise a glass of bubbly and share the good news.

"I feel absolutely elated," she told her nearest and dearest, "I feel like it's kind of surreal, it's not sunk in yet.

"It's a bit weird. Top of the Tower, top of the world!"

During a recent chat with Lorraine Kelly, Anne told that she was hopeful for the future after getting back some "fantastic" results from her chemo.

And while Linda awaited her own results at the time, she added: "I'm doing well. I'm doing great actually. I've had my chemo and I'm just waiting for the results of the scans I've had to see if it's worked."

Linda recently shared a touching post in honour of late sister Bernie on what would have been her 60th birthday, who was just 52 when she died.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer, doctors told her that it had spread to her brain, lungs, liver and bones.

"Happy 60th Birthday Bernie..." proud sister Linda wrote, "What a party it would have been, my little sister joining the 60s club!

"Not a day goes by when I don't think of you and miss you. My heart aches just to hug you one more time and to hear your voice.

"Until we meet again, I love you so much."
