Anne Hegerty sends warning to Chasers after spotting celebrity contestant

Anne Hegerty sent a warning to her colleagues on Beat the Chasers as she recognised a contestant's skills.

Beat The Chasers returned with its debut celebrity special.

For the first time, famous faces competed against quizzing titans Mark Labbett, Anne Hegerty, Jenny Ryan, Shaun Wallace and Darragh Ennis in the hope of winning money for their chosen charities.

Up first was comedian Joe Pasquale.

As he walked onto the show, Darragh appeared to be very confident about defeating Joe.

However, Anne sent him a warning and said: "I have reason to know he's better than you think."

In the first round, Joe performed well, securing £3000.

He then chose to gamble his £3000 for £30,000 but would now face four of The Chasers.

It was extremely close as both sides faltered.

But in the end, The Chasers beat Joe with just three seconds to go.

Fans were shocked at the nail-biting finale.

Sinead said: "So close Joe! Well done!"

Gillian tweeted: "So close.... well done Joe!!"

Steve said: "So close, Joe! So close!"

And Joesph added: "Ouch. Close but just a step too far there."
