Anne Hathaway has posted an empowering picture confirming her pregnancy, and beating the unwanted photographers to it.
In November, multiple outlets speculated that Hathaway was expecting a child but the Les Miserables actress never confirmed such reports and in Paparazzi photos was often seen wearing multiple layers.
However, after becoming aware of some unwanted intrusion while holidaying after the festive season, Hathaway, 33, took matters into her own hands.
The actress posted an image of herself in a bikini on Sunday, showing her cradling a pregnant stomach, the image is something she labels a “little out of character”.
Wishing a happy 2016 to her friends and 1.8 million followers on the social media site, Hathaway wrote: “So, posting a bikini pic is a little out of character for me, but just now while I was sat at the beach I noticed I was being photographed.
“I figured if this kind of photo is going to be out in the world, it should at least be an image that makes me happy (and be one that was taken with my consent. And with a filter ☺ ) (sic)
“Wishing you love, light and blessings for the year ahead!
The baby will be the first for Hathaway and her husband the actor Adam Shulman, 34, who she married in 2012.
