Anne Hathaway announced that she is pregnant with her second child in a social media post.
The 36-year-old actress posted a black and white mirror photo of herself in denim shorts and a long white tee and wearing a prominent accessory — a growing baby bump.
Hathaway assured fans that this in fact is a real pregnancy and she’s not wearing a baby bump for any upcoming movie roles.
”It’s not for a movie... #2,” the mom of one captioned the photo.
The “Princess Diaries” star also made sure to give a special message to other families who may be struggling with infertility or having a tough time starting families of their own.
“All kidding aside, for everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies,” Hathaway wrote. ”Sending you extra love.”
Her post was flooded with congratulatory messages celebrating her announcement.
Hathaway is already a mom to a 3-year-old son, Jonathan, who she shares with her husband and actor Adam Shulman.
Earlier this year, the mom revealed that she was giving up drinking until Jonathan was old enough to be out of the house.
In a new interview with Boston Common Magazine, Hathaway revealed she was surprised at all the buzz surrounding her decision.
“I didn’t put (a drink) down because my drinking was a problem; I put it down because the way I drink leads me to have hangovers and those were the problem,” she said. “My last hangover lasted for five days. When I’m at a stage in my life where there is enough space for me to have a hangover, I’ll start drinking again, but that won’t be until my kid is out of the house.”
Still, the actress doesn’t have any ill will toward parents who have a few drinks every now and then.
”I just want to make this clear: Most people don’t have to do such an extreme thing. I don’t think drinking is bad,” she said. ”It’s just the way I do it — which I personally think is really fun and awesome — is just not the kind of fun and awesome that goes with having a child for me. But this isn’t a moralistic stance.”
