Motorists are being warned that Annandale Street will close for three days from Wednesday morning.
The busy route will be off-limits between Leith Walk and East London Street, with extra queues likely on surrounding routes as a result.
The City of Edinburgh Council say the road closure will be introduced from 7am and remain until 6pm on Friday. This is so carriageway resurfacing works can be carried out.
Edinburgh Live reported earlier on Tuesday that Ocean Drive was closed southbound while similar works are completed there.
And this follows on from carriageway resurfacing on Ocean Drive northbound at the end of last week.
