Annan's Newington Post Office named best in country for customer service

Newington Post Office in Annan is officially the best when it comes to providing customer service.

The Atwal Family, including Omrik, brother and sister-in-law, Hardip and Harjinder, and staff member Vicky Stewart, celebrated on Tuesday when they were named the UK’s Best Customer Service Award from Post Office Counters Ltd.

It recognised the staff’s achievement in “going the extra mile for customers during the pandemic.”

Area manager for Post Office Counters, Christopher Tarn, presented a framed certificate which will take pride of place in the post office which is run inside the Atwal Stores on Springbells Road.

Manager, Hardip said: “I am so proud of my staff who put in a lot of work for everyone in the community. They always go the extra mile and it is lovely to see their efforts have been appreciated – especially in the pandemic.

Hardip said his family have run the business, started by his parents, for 32 years and have previously won awards 2004, 2005 and in 2015.
