Annan Harbour Action Group turn catering trailer into coffee shack

Months of hard work is paying off for the innovative Annan Harbour Action Group.

Local residents, morning dog walkers, visitors and working contractors alike have been delighted to discover the Annan Harbour Coffee Shack which is now operating each weekday morning, Monday to Friday from 8.30am until 1.30pm.

It has been adapted from a catering trailer and, as well as meeting tea, coffee and hot rolls, it is testing the water on ambitious plans the group have for transforming a quayside warehouse into a hub and development plans for the nearby Minister’s Merse.

The group’s Alan Thomson said: “The shack is testing local demand ahead of finalising cafe design in the development project and provides a conduit for the Annan Harbour Action Group to promote events and receive feedback from the community.

“Parking is easy, service is quick and barista George is always willing to discuss special requests.

“So come on down to the quay and treat yourself to a freshly brewed coffee and a cake and watch the tide come in.”
