Annan Harbour Action Group are calling on the public to visit their historic waterfront warehouse between 10am and 4pm tomorrow to share in plans for its future.
Called Harbour at Home, the public event is the regeneration group’s first opportunity to consult with the community face-to-face since it purchased property at the harbour on their behalf.
Local people and interested visitors will be able to take a glimpse into the historic warehouse – the Old Pickery building – and learn something of the plans which will see it transformed into the Harbour Hub.
The group is working to firm up these plans so that funding can be raised for the renovation project.
Alan Thomson, AHAG’s facilities manager, said: “In this phase, we are about to work up the plans with our architects to move towards planning permission and brief our funders so it is important for us to keep the community informed and hear their views on what they think should happen in the building and around our site.”
In addition there will be activities for children and young people, a visit from the Town Band, a performance by poet Hugh MacMillan, a screening of Lot 52 film, and a programme of music throughout the afternoon. The event is free.
