Peter Murphy has warned his Annan players to beware basement boys Cowdenbeath when they collide tomorrow.
The Blue Brazil are 23 points behind third placed Galabankies who are unbeaten in the last six League Two encounters.
But Murphy said: “Cowdenbeath are at the bottom of the league and 10 points behind the next club, Elgin City, so they are fighting for their lives.
“And although we are on a good run at the minute, I don’t want the players going there thinking it is an easy game.
“We have to guard against complacency when we go to their place.
“We got a draw against Stranraer last week with 10 men, so to come back from one-nil down and get a point then at least it is a good result when we didn’t start the game very well.
“It was maybe us being a bit over confident, plus Stranraer sat back and didn’t want to lose three games in a row which made it difficult for us.”
He added of the ‘Beath clash at Central Park: “They had a good result last weekend and are going to give everything to try and stay in the league.
“It can be a difficult pitch to play on and I see there is snow and frost forecast for the weekend which could make things difficult.
“But in the end it depends on how Cowdenbeath play and whether they set up to go all out attack or go more defensive to try and get something out of the game and sit back.
“But we cannot go there and think it’s going to be easy when they are fighting for their lives.”
