Annan boss Peter Murphy is hoping his side can deliver a knock out blow to table toppers Kelty Hearts on Boxing Day.
The Galabankies have racked up five games on the trot undefeated and now welcome title favourites Kelty, who have yet to lose a league encounter this season.
Annan’s latest win was a 3-2 triumph over 10-man Stirling Albion and Murphy is calling for a repeat performance but without the nervous finish when the Binos hit their late second and desperately fought to rescue a point.
He said: “We have conceded early goals in our last couple of games but come back to win and play well.
“But if we do that against Kelty Hearts then we will find it very difficult to pull that back with the quality they have in their squad.
“It is a big game for us. We are on a good vein of form right now, but the only thing is conceding those early goals and we have to cut that out.
“Last week we dominated against Stirling Albion, but with them having the man Jack Leitch sent off then they came at us while we were 3-1 up.
“We lost that late goal and fair play to them, but I was disappointed to only win 3-2 after dominating for so much of the match. It was a real see saw kind of game with the game going back and forth and we got caught up in it and rushing the passing.
“But as I said we played well and it was excellent, our three goals were excellent and apart from the second goal we did absolutely brilliant.”
He said: “I have a healthy squad of players, but if one or two, of them want to come to me because they have not been playing recently and want away then I will have to look maybe bringing in someone.”
