Anna Wintour and Lionel Richie among guests at King Charles’ star-studded charity gala in New York

Anna Wintour, Lionel Richie and Martha Stewart were among the guests at King Charles’ star-studded charity gala in New York.

The Greater Together Reception drew a slew of American and British celebrities to the event Wednesday evening, hosted by the royals on their week-long visit to the U.S.

The evening celebrated the 50th anniversary of the King’s Trust, with the monarch also promoting transatlantic ties during his speech in the halls of Christie’s in Midtown Manhattan.

Wintour, who paired a cream-colored trench coat with her signature sunglasses, was not the only big name in fashion to appear at the event.

Designers Donatella Versace and Stella McCartney, as well as supermodels Iman and Karlie Kloss, were also spotted at the gala.

Makeup mogul Charlotte Tilbury was seen with magazine editor Edward Enninful OBE, as well as Stewart, during the evening.

The King, who was in the United States as part of a tour marking the 250th anniversary of the country’s independence, was joined by music legend Lionel Richie on stage.

“I hesitate to make another speech because I may have had enough,” King Charles quipped as he opened his remarks.

In another light-hearted moment, the King praised Richie’s singing voice. The Dancing on the Ceiling singer had previously performed at Windsor Castle to celebrate the monarch’s coronation in 2023.

“I don’t know how he does it; he must gargle with port or something,” the King joked.

In a more poignant part of his speech, the King thanked attendees for supporting his charity’s efforts.

“I won't see the long-distance future, but I'm enormously grateful to you all for what you can all do as supporters to help this vital endeavor, to champion the next generation, ensuring their talent and ambition continue to strengthen our societies for many years to come,” he said.

Earlier that day, the King and Queen visited the 9/11 Memorial and met with first responders and the families of victims. The King also met with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

At a separate event, Queen met with Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker at the New York Public Library.

The royals kicked off their four-day visit to the United States Monday, when they met President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at the White House.

The two royals joined the Trumps in a private tea session before being given a tour of the White House’s South Lawn.

On Tuesday, the King addressed Congress in the second-ever delivery of a speech to both houses by a British monarch.
