Anna Leigh Waters And Catherine Parenteau Win Pro Doubles Title

Ben Johns won Men's Pro Singles with his 34th PPA title.

The Professional Pickleball Tour recently held its third pro event of the 2024 season at the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa. The event featured top players competing in various categories, including Men's Pro Singles, Women's Pro Singles, and Mixed Pro Doubles.

Men's Pro Singles

The Men's singles pro qualifying draw saw 77 players vying for eight main draw spots. Notable performances included Augustus Ge's dominant run and 17-year-old Cason Campbell's impressive wins. The main draw witnessed several upsets, with lower-seeded players advancing to the later rounds. In the end, Ben Johns emerged victorious, claiming his 34th career PPA title.

Women's Pro Singles

The Women's singles draw showcased a competitive field, with players like Jill Braverman and Parris Todd making strong runs. Anna Leigh Waters clinched the gold, defeating Mary Brascia in the final. Lea Jansen secured the bronze after a walkover against Dominique Devidze.

Mixed Pro Doubles

In the Mixed Doubles category, the top seeds dominated the competition, with only two non-top 16 seeds making it to the round of 16. Ben Johns and Anna Leigh Waters continued their unbeaten streak, claiming the gold medal by defeating Vivienne David and Thomas Wilson in the final.

The event showcased the depth and talent in the pickleball community, with exciting matches and surprising outcomes. Fans were treated to high-level competition and memorable performances throughout the tournament.
