Anna Daly says her children will always be her 'biggest achievement'

Telly golden girl Anna Daly has revealed that no matter what highs her career reaches, her children will always be her “biggest achievement”.

The busy broadcaster opened up about how she was scared of having children, but now parenthood is her main source of pride.

She said: “I always wanted to be a mother, but I always feared giving birth because I’m such a wimp, so squeamish about blood and needles.

“Yet giving birth was the biggest achievement of my life and still is.”

The broadcaster grew up in Templeogue, Dublin and now lives in Wicklow with her husband Ben and their boys James, eight, Euan, six and Rhys, three.

She said: “Going to work is a walk in the park in comparison, but I reckon most parents would say that.”

Her working week begins on Thursday morning and wraps up on Sunday.

She told the RTE Guide: “By Thursday, I’m more than ready for work as I’ve been mummy for three days.

“By then, I’m ready to chat with adults and looking forward to finishing a cup of coffee.”

She shares the sofa with her Ireland AM co-host and funnyman Simon Delaney on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

The presenter has revealed that how she juggles her busy career with raising her young family is often a talking point.

Anna said people are very quick to ask her two questions which are never asked of Delaney.

“Firstly, ‘How do you juggle work and looking after kids?’

“Now, I have three children, but Simon has four.

“And the second question is about the baby weight and how did I lose it?

“Yet they never mention Simon’s appearance or his children and how he juggles it all. Isn’t that interesting?”
