Donald Trump's ban on Muslim immigration 'doesn't go far enough', says Ann Coulter

Conservative pundit Ann Coulter has celebrated Donald Trump's call for a "complete shutdown" of Muslims entering the US.

While many have expressed outrage towards the Republican frontrunner's proposal, Ms Coulter has argued it doesn't go far enough.

She tweeted to say his plan should be applied to all immigrants, not just those who are Muslim.

"Add in every other kind of immigrant and it's perfect!"

The 54-year-old also described Mr Trump's call as the "best birthday gift".

Defending Mr Trump's comments on Great Morning Britain, the commentator went on to say the mentally ill and criminals should not be allowed into the US, the Daily Express reports.

She also appears to say: "I'd love to deport Americans who are mentally ill."

An online petition calling for Mr Trump to be banned from entering the UK after his comments has garnered more than 60,000 signatures.

The Government is obliged to respond to any petition with more than 10,000 signatories.
