Aniruddh Dave, who was last seen in Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, believes that today, people are going out of their way to be seen on social media. However, he doesn’t let the pressure of making his presence felt on social media bog him down. When free, he prefers to hone his acting skills.
He says, “When I am not shooting, I keep myself busy with reading, writing, and my own production work. The idea of constantly being active on social media and worrying about the number of followers is exhausting. Sometimes, I don’t post photos for weeks. My social media doesn’t define me, my work does. In fact, I have written a poem titled Abhinay hua sasta, kala ki haalat khasta. I would rather invest my time in reading write-ups, motivational notes, and quotes from my favourite actors, writers, and poets. I follow people who inspire me and stir me intellectually.”
He adds, “Having an enviable following on social media doesn’t necessarily mean that one is a good actor, too. Saleable for sure but cannot guarantee how they will perform in front of the camera. It’s an irony and misfortune of the industry today.”
Patience is the key to success in the industry, he believes. “I am very ambitious. Our work makes us saleable. One shouldn’t take any pressure as ups and downs are inevitable. Kabhi arsh pe, kabhi farsh pe. Being content is the first promise to yourself if one wants to grow,” Aniruddh concludes.
