Animated comedy ‘Archer’ renewed for season 13 at FXX

Sterling Archer and his gang will live to see another day.

With the 12th season of “Archer” underway on FXX, the cable channel has announced it’s renewing the Emmy Award-winning animated spy spoof for a 13th season.

On Wednesday, FX’s original programming chief Nick Grad said that the eight-episode new season will be available in 2022, will premiere on FXX and be available to stream the next day on FX on Hulu.

“Archer remains one of FX’s signature series and we are happy to extend its legacy with another globetrotting season,” the executive said.

The half-hour series follows Sterling Archer, the head of a dysfunctional intelligence agency, as he navigates the changing landscape of the spy world.

“Archer” features the voices of H. Jon Benjamin as the title character — formerly known as the world’s greatest spy. Emmy-winning former talk show host Aisha Tyler stars as Lana Kane — the spy with marital problems and Judy Greer stars as the loveably crazy office assistant.

The recently deceased Jessica Walter voiced the character of Archer’s mother and spymaster, Malory Archer. The 1975 Emmy-winning actress — also seen on “Arrested Development” — garnered her first Emmy nomination for her work on “Archer” after her March death at age 80.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the loss will be “creatively addressed” in the 13th season.
