'Animaniacs' reboot lands two-season order at Hulu

The Animaniacs are back.

The animated classic has been picked up for a two-season reboot at Hulu, the streaming service announced Thursday.

"Animaniacs" originally ran on Fox Kids from 1993 to 1995, then on WB from 1995 to 1998. Over its five-year run, the show won eight daytime Emmy Awards.

The reboot will be executive produced by Steven Spielberg and see the return of main characters Yakko, Wakko and Dot and fan favorites like Pinky and the Brain.

"We cannot wait to work with Steven Spielberg and the entire Amblin and Warner Bros. teams to bring more sketches, catchphrases, songs and laughs from the 'Animaniacs'to kids and adults everywhere," Craig Erwich, the senior vice president of content at Hulu, said in a statement.

"Now one of the most beloved, inventive and funny animated franchises in history, 'Animaniacs' and its cast of witty characters can live on, on Hulu. This marks yet another big move for us as we continue our efforts to be the No. 1 streaming destination for premium animated content."

In addition to the rebooted "Animaniacs," Hulu also announced that it will host the original 99 episodes, as well as spinoff series "Pinky and the Brain," "Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain" and the complete "Tiny Toon Adventures" collection.
