Animal rescue charity wants to find new home for shy girl Gloria

The Scottish SPCA is seeking a home for a cane corso in their care called Gloria.

Scotland’s animal welfare charity has been caring for Gloria at an animal rescue and rehoming centre in the central belt for the last three years.

Animal rescue and rehoming centre superintendent Sharon Comrie said: “Gloria is one of the last remaining dogs seized from a puppy farm.

“She is an extremely shy girl who is very unsure of men and prefers females.

“Gloria is looking for an adult only home with no other pets. Her new owner will need a lot of time to dedicate to her socialisation as she is timid when experiencing new things due to her very sheltered past.

“A large, enclosed garden would be ideal to allow her a place to exercise and build her confidence to venture out in to the big wide world.

“Gloria is looking for an experienced owner who will be patient and dedicated to her future training. We are asking prospective owners to commit to visiting a couple of times per week to allow her to get to know them.

“Once she gets to know you, she has a very cheeky and playful side and she loves a belly rub.

“She is a lovely dog. She just needs that special someone to show her love and help build her confidence, and she can become the loyal and adoring pet she was meant to be.”

Anyone who can offer Gloria a home should contact the Scottish SPCA on 03000 999 999.
