It is not yet the end for "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" as it was recently teased that it is getting a new adorable and cute collaboration with global dessert chain Baskin-Robbins.
'Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Gets New Collab
The official Japanese account for Baskin-Robbins announced the collaboration through a post on X, confirming a new in-game release tied to Nintendo's life simulation title. The ice cream and cake chain revealed a new addition called "31 Ice Cream Island," set to arrive in the game soon.
The announcement noted that a dream address for the island will be revealed on July 1 through social media and a dedicated campaign site. Baskin-Robbins also confirmed plans to distribute custom My Designs as part of the collaboration.
According to ComicBook Gaming, since the announcement was originally posted in Japanese and translated for international audiences, some context or specific details may not have fully carried over. No official communication regarding the release has come through English-language channels yet.
The game originally released back in 2020, making it the latest mainline entry in the long-running series and one of the best-selling titles on the Nintendo Switch platform. Despite its age, Nintendo continues offering light support for the game, and this new partnership marks one of its more unusual additions yet.

'ACNH' x Baskin-Robbins Announcement Coming
Fans have responded enthusiastically to the news online, especially given how unexpected the partnership is for a six-year-old game.
One fan expressed excitement over how cute the concept sounded, saying they were already looking forward to its release, with many more showing their anticipation for the collaboration.
The excitement extends beyond longtime players as well since "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" became natively available on Nintendo Switch 2 back in January, giving newer console owners access to the same upcoming content.
What to Expect From Baskin-Robbins Collab
Beyond the confirmed July 1 reveal date, specific details about what the 31 Ice Cream Island will actually include remain limited for now. The collaboration arrives without much surrounding context, and further information is expected to surface once the dream address and full campaign details go live.
This would not be "Animal Crossing: New Horizons'" first brand tie-in either. The game has previously partnered with Sanrio, bringing in villagers and furniture inspired by characters like Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Cinnamoroll, along with crossovers tied to fellow Nintendo franchises including "Super Mario," "Pokémon," and "Splatoon."
Fashion labels including Valentino and Marc Jacobs also used the game's custom design tools to showcase their collections back in 2020, while companies like Pandora and H&M built entire dream islands to promote their own brands during the height of the game's popularity.
This update also raises broader questions about the future of the "Animal Crossing" franchise as a whole. There is currently little indication of a new mainline entry in development, despite frequent leaks surrounding other Nintendo titles in recent years.
Given that eight years passed between "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" and "Animal Crossing: New Horizons," a similar gap would put the next mainline release around 2028, though nothing has been confirmed in that regard.
