‘Animal Crossing: New Horizons’: All The Sakura Cherry Blossom DIY Recipes And How To Get Them

So, Bunny Day in Animal Crossing is sort of a bust. Part of this is how it’s just absolutely flooded the island with eggs with dubious uses at best, and part of it is that the furniture is just a little…extra. There’s no way I’m putting this bizarre Bunny Day Bed in my house for even a second after the event, for example, and the clothing is garish at best. But there’s another event running at the same time, and it has some much better rewards: you may have noticed some cherry blossoms floating around. If you catch them in a net, you can use them in a new suite of Cherry Blossom DIY recipes, also called Sakura recipes, so long as you’re lucky enough to get them.

You get the first Cherry Blossom recipe from Isabelle during the morning announcements, and you should have gotten it on April 1. That’s the picnic set. It’s possible we’ll get another one from Isabelle from before the end of cherry blossom season. Some consider pictures to be spoilers, so check out the list below. Polygon has pictures if you’re curious.

  • Outdoor Picnic Set
  • Cherry Blossom Wand
  • Cherry Blossom Pochette
  • Cherry Blossom Pond Stone
  • Cherry Blossom Petal Pile
  • Cherry Blossom Bonsai
  • Cherry Blossom Branches
  • Cherry Blossom Viewing Lantern
  • Cherry Blossom Clock
  • Cherry Blossom Trees Wall
  • Sakura Wood Wall
  • Cherry Blossom Flooring
  • Sakura Wood Flooring
  • Cherry Blossom Umbrella

Despite these being seasonal recipes, they do not arrive in the Bunny Day balloons or bottles. You get these from regular bottles or balloons, which makes them much, much harder to come by: I haven’t gotten a single one so far. I have gotten multiple recipes for “medium cardboard boxes”, however, so I’m good on that, definitely. My character appears happy in that screenshot above, but it’s a front.

Honestly, the system for DIY recipes is becoming my major gripe with this game. I’d love any and all of these items, but it’s becoming clear that the odds of getting the one I want are slime to none, and the same goes for basically all DIY items. I’m still waiting for the ability to craft some basic furniture, and my house is suffering for it: in the meantime I’m drowning in duplicate recipes for items the game basically gives you. I feel like this needs a patch.
