Angus Kinnear takes aim at Aleksandar Mitrovic with a sly dig after Ben White elbow

Angus Kinnear has taken a sly dig at Fulham’s banned striker Aleksandar Mitrovic after his elbow in Ben White’s face on Saturday.

The Serbian striker threw his arm into the face of the centre-back inside the second minute of the weekend match, but officials missed the incident.

Yesterday, The Football Association banned him for three matches after Mitrovic admitted it constituted violent conduct.

Writing in his programme notes ahead of Luton Town’s Tuesday visit, Kinnear took pleasure in underlining how dominant White was in that head-to-head battle.

“The key opening exchange saw Aleksandar Mitrovic’s elbow on Ben White almost inadvertently render the Serbian striker homeless,” he said.

“Fortunately, Ben was quick to recover allowing ‘Mitro’ to continue to reside in Ben’s pocket for the remaining 88 minutes.

“The challenge was so late none of the officials could be blamed for following play and missing it (as they confirmed they had at half-time).

“However, the evident intent will make a mockery of the retrospective action law if delayed justice is not delivered.”
