Angus Kinnear spells out what's happening with Jack Clarke

It's been confirmed Jack Clarke's second spell at Leeds United has come to an end.

Managing director Angus Kinnear was writing his usual programme notes ahead of the Boxing Day clash with Preston North End, confirming what had been reported earlier in the day.

The 19-year-old Thorp Arch academy product will return to Tottenham Hotspur, who signed him in the summer before loaning him back to Leeds.

He won't have any further part to play for Leeds in the final two matches before the January transfer window - Preston and Birmingham City - having been recalled by his parent club due to a lack of first-team minutes.

"We thank Jack Clarke for his services and wish him the best of luck in his career," said Kinnear.

"Spurs have confirmed, due to a lack of playing time, he will be recalled in the January transfer window."

On his return to Elland Road, he made just two senior starts, both in the EFL Cup, while his Championship season has amounted to a 19-minute cameo as Leeds won 2-1.

It's been suggested Clarke will be looked at by Spurs' new manager Jose Mourinho in January with a loan move to another Championship club in the second half of the season likely.
