Angus Kinnear's snark ascends to the next level as he takes aim at FA over Aston Villa incident

One of the many highlights of an unforgeable season for Leeds United has been the regular musings of CEO Angus Kinnear in the official matchday programme.

Over the course of the past ten months, Kinnear has not been shy in give his full and frank thoughts on the various controversies, high points, low points and other goings at Elland Road and the rest of the Championship.

Wednesday night's Championship play-off semi-final second leg against Derby County gave him one last column to write, and as luck would bring, one last kicking from the FA to set straight.

Last time out at Elland Road saw some of the most remarkable scenes of the season, when Marcelo Bielsa let Aston Villa walk the ball into the back of the net following Mateusz Klich's controversial opening goal.

There were a number a flashpoints following that strike, with Anwar El Ghazi being sent off after Patrick Bamford went down in his vicinity, only for that red card to be rescinded and the Leeds man handed a two-match ban for simulation.

While few Leeds fans argued with Bamford being punished once they had seen the footage back, a major sticking point was the fact that Conor Hourihane, who struck Klich immediately after he scored the goal, did not receive any retrospective punishment.

The decision inflamed Leeds fans, but what did Kinnear make of it? As you'd expect, he hasn't held back.

Angus Kinnear pokes fun at Pontus Jansson in amusing statement as Leeds United await FA punishment

"The unsatisfactory regulation conclusion to the whole incident was compounded when, for the second time this season, the FA's three man review board including Joey Barton and Conor McGregor ruled that an action against our player did not reach the threshold of violent conduct," he writes.

"I could highlight the futility of appealing thee decisions, but what's the point?"

Never change, Angus...
