Angus Kinnear issues stern response to Roma over Victor Orta's Leeds United future

Leeds United chief executive has issued a hands-off warning to those who may be looking to snatch Victor Orta from the club's clutches.

The Spaniard has masterminded the Whites' transfer strategy, liaising with Marcelo Bielsa to secure a plethora of additions in the summer window.

Leeds' first team has been bolstered with the additions of Rodrigo Moreno, Robin Koch and Diego Llorente, capped off by the deadline-day capture of Raphinha from Rennes.

Alongside that, significant attention has been paid towards the future with a vast array of signings arriving for the U23 ranks where they will be developed before potential senior football.

Unsurprisingly, that has seen some interest in securing Orta's services - with Serie A side Roma attributed with an intention to lure him away from Yorkshire.

However, Kinnear has made it abundantly clear that Leeds do not intend to let Orta go anywhere - and also joked about why clubs may look to reevaluate their interest.

"Victor’s been a massive part of everything in the Championship and the squad he’s building in the Premier League," he told Sky Sports News.

"So, there is interest from other clubs in Victor - it doesn’t surprise us - but we’re not letting him go anywhere. If they saw his behaviour in the director’s box, they wouldn’t want him either.”
