Angus Kinnear issues exciting Leeds United news concerning Marcelo Bielsa's plans for the future

Leeds United's final game of the 2020/21 Premier League season is somehow upon us, some eight months after the side's opening day defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.

The Premier League in its current form was uncharted territory for Leeds United, having spent 16 years in the wilderness of the English Football League's lower divisions.

However, after a short stint back in the big time, Leeds have re-established themselves as one of the competition's most entertaining, enthralling and deserving sides.

Prior to this afternoon's final day offering at home to already-relegated West Bromwich Albion, director Angus Kinnear has delivered an exciting message to Leeds supporters in his pre-match programme notes.

"In terms of looking forward, Marcelo and the board have been planning for next season since the turn of the year," he writes.

"While we will be using the window to strengthen it will be done judiciously using Victor's unique recruitment insight which will, no doubt, consign my pallet of "Orta Out" t-shirts to another year in storage," Kinnear added in jovial fashion.

This appears to be the clearest indication yet of Marcelo Bielsa's contract being imminently extended, by a high-ranking club figure.

The likes of Andrea Radrizzani and new vice president Paraag Marathe have remained quietly confident on the matter, but Kinnear's admission that plans for the future are already in motion suggests the Argentine has little intention of leaving a job half-finished.

On supporters returning to Elland Road today for the first time in 443 days, Kinnear had this to say: "The future should excite us all, but nothing should excite us more than our biggest summer signing: the return of the Leeds United faithful.

"The promise of unleashing a packed Elland Road on the Premier League will be a joy to behold. This prospect reinforces the idea that when we are united, there should never be a limit to our ambition for our club and what we can achieve as one."

Leeds United kick-off against West Bromwich Albion at 4pm on Saturday 23rd May, in front of 8,000 Leeds United supporters in what will undoubtedly be an emotionally-charged affair.
