Angry shopper 'abused woman' in Aldi – police issue CCTV

Police are investigating reports a shopper in a supermarket in Bristol began shouting at a woman so fiercely the incident was reported to the police.

Detectives are treating the incident as a public order offence, and said they want to speak to a man in connection with what happened.

The incident happened at around 2pm on April 16, the Thursday after the Easter weekend, at the Aldi store in Longwell Green, South Gloucestershire.

Police said: "We are investigating reports of a public order offence at a supermarket in Longwell Green.

"A woman in her 40s reported being verbally abused at Aldi at approximately 2pm on Thursday April 16.

"We are seeking the public's help to identify a man captured on CCTV that we want to speak to in connection with the incident," he added.

Avon and Somerset police issued a CCTV image taken from inside Aldi at the time, showing a man wearing a black gilet and a white top standing at what appears to be the queue for the checkouts at the Aldi store.

"Anyone who recognises him, or has information which could help our investigation, is asked to report it online or call 101 giving reference number 5220083803," the spokesperson added.
