A furious pensioner lashed out with his walking stick and killed a seagull after it tried to pinch his snack from Greggs bakery.
Shocking footage shows John Nicholson, 68, angrily attacking the bird in revenge after he lost his lunch in Rhyl last January.
The pensioner, from Gronant near Prestatyn, failed to turn up at Llandudno magistrates’ court for his trial so was convicted in his absence.
Nicholson was found guilty of intentionally killing a wild bird and disorderly behaviour by being abusive to police.
The CCTV footage shows Nicholson walking towards a flock of seagulls who had gathered on the pavement.

He is clutching a white paper bag in one hand before he attacks one of the birds in front of shocked onlookers.
Nicholson walks away from the scene and he appears to put the paper bag in his pocket.
Court chairman Alwyn Lloyd Ellis said the footage "clearly shows an act of intent by the defendant".
He added: "As a result the bird died."

Nicholson, who has no previous convictions, was fined £180 for each of the two charges and also ordered to pay £652 costs.
A disgusted witness said she had to put the seagull's remains in a box to stop children from seeing the 'disgusting' scene.
A RSPCA Cymru spokesperson said: "These allegations are very shocking and extremely serious.
"This matter is being investigated by North Wales Police and we are unable to comment further for legal reasons."
