Angry note left on BMW car taking up two parking spaces in South Dublin

A spate of bad parking in the capital over the weekend has left fellow motorists and pedestrians extremely angry.

A Facebook page titled 'Dublin parking clowns' posted two pictures in recent days which caused outrage on the site.

The first was a snap of a jeep parked on a footpath. The vehicle was extremely close to the wall making it impossible for anyone to get past.

One of those people trying to use the footpath was an 'elderly disabled man' who was unable to get past the 4x4.

The post read: "So this elderly disabled man was unable to get past this 4 x 4 blocking the path, it wasn't safe for him to walk out on the road either."

The picture was shared thousands of times over the weekend with people telling of their own experiences of trying to deal with cars blocking footpaths.

One person said: "That’s how I broke my leg and was in a plaster for 4 months and limped for 4 years! I had to walk around a car parked like that and I slipped."

Another added: "It happens a lot to me when I’m on my buggy on the corner of Barkers Lane and Goldington Road when parents pick up their children from Goldington Primary school.

A third chimed in and said: "This happened me years ago when I was wheeling my pram.

"The fella was in the car and wouldn't move so I continued wheeling and scraped the whole side of his car. He was fuming but he should have moved what could he say."

As well as this, a BMW driver received an angry note after it was spotted taking up two parking spaces in South Dublin.

The car was on Kilmainham Lane in Dublin 8 and one passerby who was furious with the situation decided to leave a note on the window.

It read: "Please don't take up two parking spaces. Use the bus if you can't park properly."
