Showbiz correspondent Dan Wootton has blasted Meghan Markle for becoming a guest editor for Vogue magazine.
The Duchess of Sussex has been confirmed for the prestigious post at the British edition of Vogue's September issue.
But the Lorraine show guest was far from happy about the decision.
He told Christine Lampard, who was standing in for Lorraine Kelly: "I feel like I need to bring a bit of reality to the situation.
"We are talking about Vogue magazine, probably one of the most elite, snobby fashion dominated magazine in the world."
Dan also went on to say that Meghan Markle shouldn't be editor because 'Royals don't guest edit magazines'.
The Duchess of Sussex is the first person to edit the iconic September issue, which focuses on female changemakers and has been titled 'Forces for Change' by editor-in-chief Edward Enninful, DevonLive reports.
She has been heavily involved in choosing women across fashion, film, tech and beyond to feature including actress Yara Shahidi, model Adwoa Aboah, climate change campaigner Greta Thunberg, activist and actor Jane Fonda, LGBTQIA+ advocate and actor Laverne Cox.
But viewers of the morning show took to Twitter to hit back at Dan for his 'negative comments'.
One fan said: "That man having a go at the Duchess for being an editor for Vogue was one of the stupidest things I've seen for a long time. Leave Meghan alone, she can do what ever she wants and stick to reporting crap British soaps."
Another tweeted: "#Lorraine the untalented #DanWootton slagging of Meghan Markle on #GMTV for being the editor #Vogue quoting questionable tabloid stories about her conduct as a royal; Nonsense!!!"
One added: "Who cares if Meghan Markle wants to guest edit a magazine. She’s allowed to have personal interests and seize opportunities she’s given. Heaven forbid she actually ventures outside the royal family. #Lorraine #voguecover #vogue"
Another commented: "#Lorraine LEAVE OFF MEGHAN!!! She’s still learning, she’s had to give up so much to be with Harry, and you can’t please everyone all of the time. Totally fed up with this constant Meghan bashing."
