Angry Everton boss Marco Silva furious after defender is ruled out of West Ham clash

Everton defender Yerry Mina has been ruled out of the Toffees' visit to West Ham on Saturday evening in the Premier League and his manager is far from impressed.

The defender, who joined the Merseyside club for £30m in the summer from Barcelona having been strongly linked with a move to the Hammers, picked up a suspected hamstring injury in the first half of Colombia's 2-1 defeat to South Korea in Seoul earlier this week.

Mina also played for the Colombians in their 1-0 win over Japan a few days earlier and seemingly, Silva only wanted him to play one of the two games as he has seen his season disrupted by injury.

Mina has played just 12 times for the Toffees this campaign and is set for an extended spell on the sidelines once again as Silva confirmed that his injury it "serious."

Silva is far from happy with the Colombian FA after insisting to them that Mina should not be playing two games in such a short space of time. Colombia went against his wishes and now Silva is the one counting the cost.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the game this weekend, the Portuguese boss said: "It is not good news. It is serious. It is no good for us as a club.

"It is now for us to support. He has had some unlucky moments and bad injuries since he joined the club.

Manuel Pellegrini provides worrying injury update on West Ham midfielder ahead of Everton clash

"We knew before he went to the national team it would be risky for him to play the two matches. Our communication with them was in this way. We advised them. It was always a risk for him to play two games in a short period.

"But they have decided and unfortunately Mina is now injured."
