Towns hosting World Cup teams tend to give a warm welcome to the players and any fans of the country in their midst, but Celle has surely gone further than most hosts in the hand it has extended to Angola. The town in Lower Saxony is dispatching an air freight container with medical goods and bicycles to Angola as part of a three-day "Angola friendship festival" from June 16-18. Some 2,000 Angola fans are being bussed in from Hanover for the middle day of the event, which will feature German and Angolan food, music and sport. The Angola players could be seen signing autographs and handing out photocards to locals who turned up to watch their training this week.
