Anger at 'tiny single city centre room being rented out for HUGE amount'

People are furious after a tiny single room went on the rental market for £430 per month, a sum branded "extortionate".

Photos shared online show a dinghy, narrow room with little else but a bed inside.

They were part of the Facebook advert, which said the room was up for grabs for €500 a month in Dublin, Republic of Ireland.

That doesn't include all your bills - they are around €20 extra a month - and you would also need a further €500 deposit before moving in, Dublin Live reports.

The advertiser, which has since removed the advert from Facebook, said 14 people were currently living in the property.

But it allegedly has just "eight rooms".

Incredibly, the advertiser states that the room is available to everyone except for Brazilians who are "not allowed" rent this room.

Fuming social media users shared their anger.

Some compared the cramped room to something out of Harry Potter.

One person wrote: "It kind of looks like they put up plasterboard partitions to divide up existing bedrooms."

Another added: "Jesus, you can see at the bottom its not even a real wall" to which someone replied, "Ah god you're right. I thought it was a cupboard, but they've put plasterboard dividers in to make one larger room into multiple tiny ones, looks like."

One man, who claimed to be a tradesman, said: "I’d say it’s a room divided in two alright.

"Easy enough to throw up a timber stud and a few sheet of plasterboard."
