Anger at Liverpool Comic Con 2021 as early bird ticket holders 'stuck' in 'disgraceful' queues

Liverpool Comic Con 2021 got underway this morning, but some visitors said they were frustrated at what they said were lengthy queues to get in.

Sci-fi fans, comic book lovers and Cosplay enthusiasts could buy early bird tickets to get into Liverpool Comic Con, however many reported being stuck in queues outside the venue, Exhibition Centre Liverpool, past their ticket entry time.

With many of the activities at the event having set time slots, including photo opportunities with television and film stars, some people said they were left "angry" and confused.

Many people have been commenting on Liverpool Comic Con’s Facebook page.

One, Jenny, said: “Early access tickets, we have been queuing since 9 and still stuck in the queue with no sign of getting in any time soon!!! Awfully organised, There are a lot of angry people!!! I think a lot of people will give it a miss in future!!! Shocking!!!

Paula commented: “If you got your customers in on time they might enjoy it! My kids are still in the queue with 9am early entry tickets! Sort it out”

Alan added: “Been waiting in a queue since 9am with our 9am tickets… people going in ahead of us with later tickets. Why haven’t you got 2 queues? What’s the point in paying extra for early bird tickets?”

Trisha said: “Why put a panel on at 10am when people can't even get in! 100% gonna miss the originals panel which is paid for separate! Absolute joke!”

Siobhan commented: “Meant to be doing a photo op at 10am and I can’t even get in! Disgraceful what’s the point in paying for 9am tickets!!”

Sarah asked: “Is there only one queue, we have 9am tickets but are queuing behind people with later tickets?”

MJ commented: “I've got a ticket for the 10am originals panel, but in the massive early bird queue, will I still be let in if I'm late?”

Liverpool Comic Con is taking place today and tomorrow, November 14, at Exhibition Centre Liverpool.

The event organisers were contacted for comment by the ECHO.
