Anger as 'selfish' drivers park all over Liverpool beauty spot

There is an increasing problem of "selfish" drivers parking on Liverpool beauty spots.

This weekend images shared with the ECHO show a number of cars parked on grass and park areas in Otterspool.

As more and more people head out to areas like Otterspool to enjoy the good weather with their families and pets - there is increasing frustration at those who believe it is ok to drive their cars onto the park and leave them there.

These latest images show a number of cars parked on grass at Otterspool on Sunday morning.

The images were shared on twitter and prompted anger and frustration from plenty of people.

Responding, one twitter user said had 'given up' using Otterspool Park.

They added: "It's been completely taken over and ruined by selfish drivers.

"It's a beautiful place but the selfishness of drivers has ruined it."

Issues of drivers parking across beauty spots like Otterspool and elsewhere appear to be growing.

Last week the ECHO shared more images showing the problem in both Otterspool and at The Mystery in Wavertree.

Local Wavertree councillors said they have seen more and more examples of selfish drivers taking their cars in to the park, causing problems for pedestrians.

At the time, Cllr Clare McIntyre said: "Since the pandemic, green spaces have become even more essential.

"Nature needs to be at the heart of our response to the impact of the COVID-19 and to build more resilience for the future.

"This is dangerous and selfish behaviour and ruining our park which is for all of us to use for play, relaxing , exercise and wellbeing."
