Anger as fly-tippers dump large amount of waste at side of Nottingham road

A city councillor has voiced her frustration after a large amount of waste was dumped at the side of a Nottingham road.

The waste includes a rolled up carpet and pram and was spotted at the top of Ellis Court in St Ann's on Thursday, December 17.

Chantal Lee, Labour Councillor for St Ann’s Ward, has criticised whoever is responsible and urged the public to use the council's free bulky waste collection service.

She said: “Our local teams have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic to keep our streets clean and tidy.

"Flytipping puts extra strain on our hardworking staff and costs money to clear.

"Please use the councils free bulky waste service if you have rubbish that needs clearing.

A spokesperson for Nottingham City Council confirmed a team from the authority has now cleared the rubbish.

Members of the public can book a slot for their waste to be collected by the council who offer a free service, picking rubbish up from addresses across the city.
